It is with great enthusiasm that we announce to the community the 2009
Annual Hispanic Heritage Festival of Palm Coast
(HHFPC), Sponsored by the
“Hispanic American Club of Palm Coast” (HAC). It is celebrated
every year in the month of October. This year it takes place on Friday,
Saturday & Sunday, October 2, 3 & 4 2009
on City Place Street at the
Palm
Coast
Town
Center
off SR 100 in the City of Palm Coast, Florida. The HHFPC is an integral part of
the Hispanic Heritage Month and as always admission is FREE for the community!! Coolers
NOT allowed in the Festival or Parking areas (NO se permiten Hieleras en el area
del
Festival o su estacionamiento).
This year we bring three (3) days of music, dancing, arts & craft
and plenty of fun for the whole family. With
renamed artists from all over the Latin world.
We are now receiving applications for Sponsors, Food Vendors, Exhibitors and
Advertisement. Just “click” on
the menu for the forms, print, fill out, sign and mail them in as soon as possible so
you won’t miss out on this great promotional opportunity.
This year again we count once more with the participation of the world
famous Cuban
Artist, Uldis Lopez who has graciously agreed to unveil an art piece
which will be the symbol for this years Festival.
Mr. Lopez has recently participated in the 3rd
Annual Legacy Jazz Festival of Palm Coast with a beautiful sculpture of a
saxophone and in our last years festival. We
are honored that he will be part once again of our Festival and that his art will
represent us this year. We thank him
for his generosity. You can see below
a copy of last year’s art piece as well as a link to his web site where you can admire
all of his outstanding art work.
2008 HHFPC Art Piece by the Cuban Artist Uldis Lopez
This
grand event has become a tradition in
Palm
Coast
and it is considered the BIGGEST HISPANIC EVENT
in the area. It has significantly grown in attendance and success since 2006.
About 10,000 people attended our last Festival celebration. The HHFPC has always
been characterized as a family-oriented, cultural and educational event. It
showcases a mosaic of the very best of the Latin-American rhythms and dances, arts and
crafts, painters, exhibits, kiddy rides, and the flavors and aromas of ethnic and
international cuisine with a firm goal to provide 2 days of activities, socialization
and enjoyment for the residents of Flagler and neighboring Counties (Volusia, St. Johns,
Duval and Putnam) as well as fund raiser for the HAC Scholarship Program and Building
Funds. We will also be promoting the
event in the Orlando,
Tampa
,
Miami
and
Ocala
and other areas as to reach out to a larger Hispanic Community this year.
It is evident that Hispanic Americans population is growing at a fast paste in our
community. Demographics demonstrate that
Hispanics have become the largest minority group in many counties.
Recently the U.
S. Census Bureau released their annual estimate of metropolitan growth
and
Palm Coast
,
Florida
ranked number one in percentage population growth for the period July 1, 2006 to July 1,
2007 (7.2%). More impressively, it also ranked number one for the 2000 – 2005 period
with a growth rate of 77.4%.
I am humble and grateful for the opportunity given once again to be part in the
organization of such a great event and look forward to seeing all of you there.
“Que Viva la Música” y que viva la comunidad
“Hispano- Americana”. Un fuerte
abrazo.
